Abstract
This work examined the economics of rural-urban migration in Nigeria, with specific reference to Konduga LGA in Borno State. Both primary and secondary data were used in the study. The study employed descriptive statistics for data analysis. The finding of the study revealed that the economic situation in Konduga Local Government Area is the major cause of migration from the area to other towns and cities. It was also found out that 89.29% of those who migrate are between the age bracket of 16-35 years and they the Local Government as 78.6% of the respondents affirm to have experienced economic set-back when their relation left home. Based on the results, the study suggests that government of the rural sector thereby encouraging the rural dwelling to learn to appreciate and develop themselves by themselves.
